Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Chovia processes, why it is used, how information may be visible and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We process account details such as your email address, display name and settings; content you submit, including decisions, options, comments, reactions, direct messages, photos, voice messages and reports; and optional profile details you choose to provide.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, operate Chovia, personalize relevant context, maintain safety and respond to support requests. Optional profile details remain private unless you deliberately attach an eligible field to a decision. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising.
Sharing and processors
Public decisions and comments are visible to other members. Direct messages are visible to conversation participants; moderators may access a reported message and limited surrounding context only to review the report. Chovia uses AWS for hosting, media storage and transactional email. If diagnostics are enabled, limited crash and device data is sent to Sentry without Chovia account identifiers, screenshots, view hierarchy or request bodies.
Retention and deletion
You can edit optional profile details at any time. Deleting a conversation hides its history only from your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, decisions, comments and updates, clears message text you sent and deletes associated message media, subject to limited retention required for security or law.
Your choices and rights
Account & Privacy in the app lets you export a machine-readable copy, control diagnostics, correct profile data and delete your account. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable, or withdraw consent for optional processing.
International users and children
Chovia is intended for adults and is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age required in your country. We honor applicable privacy rights, including those available in the EEA, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Japan and South Korea.
